Forecasted 4th Quarter & Full Year Profitability Impacted By 100% Increase In Snowboard Revenue GREENVILLE, S.C., Nov. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- California Pro Sports, Inc. (Nasdaq: CALP, CALPW) announced that it had an unaudited net pre-tax profit of $64.0 thousand or $.02 per share for it's third quarter ended September 30, 1995. Mike Casazza, President and Chief Operating Officer, stated the Company now had two consecutive profitable quarters, resulting in a forecasted profit for the year ending December 31, 1995. Revenues through September 30, 1995 increased by nearly 9% to $11.69 million versus $10.76 million a year ago. The revenue increases are particularly noteworthy given the current retail environment. Barry Hollander, Chief Financial Officer, commented that this year's increase in sales would have been $1 million greater in the third quarter had the Company had sufficient product available to ship the Kemper Snowboard orders. Fourth quarter revenues are forecasted again to be favorable to last year as California Pro fills the Kemper Snowboard backlog. The Company expects that Kemper Snowboards will generate sales that are 100% greater this year versus 1994. Additionally, telemarketing programs coupled with new in-line skate introductions are expected to contribute to future growth. The Company has now developed the initial in-line skate product line offering for the major general retail channels to be marketed utilizing the Company's sub-brand Rolling Thunder(TM). Casazza further commented on the Company's previously announced proposed acquisition of USA Skate. It is expected a successful completion of this acquisition will take place some time in December 1995 subject to the continuing due diligence and accounting reconciliation. This acquisition is projected to add over $20 million in revenues in 1996 to the core business of California Pro. Casazza commented that co-marketing and sales efforts have been underway for several months between California Pro and USA Skate. These activities have already procured sales for early 1996 delivery of in- line skates and snowboards from European distributors of USA Skate. Clearly, the synergy and opportunities that are contemplated are very substantial, inclusive of the worldwide in-line skate potential utilizing the Vic(R) brand on fitness, recreational, street and roller hockey skates, as well as protective gear. California Pro markets California Pro(TM) in-line skates, Kemper(R) snowboards, protective equipment and other related accessory products. In 1994, snowboarding and in-line skating were reported as the two fastest growing sports in the world. CO: California Pro Sports Inc. ST: South Carolina IN: REA SU: ERN
